The Chattanooga State men’s basketball team lost another game on Tuesday night to Snead State Community College, 83-66. The Tigers of Chattanooga State are now 5-5 and are on a 5 game losing streak.
The last Tiger victory was on Saturday November 12 when they upset number 7 Southwest Tennessee Community College. After that game the Tigers were undefeated at 5-0, and were making a case to be ranked in the initial basketball rankings, which come out on Tuesday December 6th.
For their next game Chattanooga State hosted Snead State and suffered their first loss of the season 87-84. In that game Chattanooga State blew a 49-36 point lead after having a lack luster performance in the 2nd half. The Tigers haven’t been the same since.
Now Chattanooga State sits at 5-5, 2-2 and in 6th place in the conference. The Tigers only have two games left before the Christmas break. Luckily those two games are both home games against Motlow State (December 2nd) and Volunteer State (December 3rd) Motlow State is 6-2, 5th in the conference and riding a 2 game winning streak. Volunteer State on the other hand is 5-4, 9th in the conference but is coming off a game where they scored 105 points.
Chattanooga State can’t afford to let the games against the lower teams in the conference slip away. These two games coming up this weekend might be some of the most important games of the season for Chattanooga State. Will the Tigers be able to turn things around or will they enter the Christmas break riding a 7 game losing streak? We will find out this weekend just how good of a Holiday break Coach Price and his team will have.
