UPDATED: Tailgate ahead

Tiger Tailgate Party:  April 8, 2016 starting at noon, ends at 4:00 p.m.

The tradition of tailgating preceding a major sporting event is a little something southern communities artfully master with ease.

This week, the Chattanooga State community is seeking campus community to showcase its tailgating traditions and unique skills.

The Tiger Tailgate Party is set for Friday, Apr. 8, starting at noon, next to the baseball and softball team’s Field House.   All campus rules will apply during the tailgating event and glass containers are prohibited.

Organizers say, while the tailgating area will be designated, tailgate spaces cannot be reserved.  Tailgate locations are on a first-come, first-pick for all planning to set-up and participate.

While electrical outlets will not be available, the event organizers indicate you CAN use: gas grills, the standard 10 x 10 tailgater tent (or smaller), and make, bring or share non-alcoholic food and beverages.

If this is your first tailgate, never fear – there are plenty of checklists, idea boards and blogs offering unique recipes, packing lists and even themes for your event.
